Israel Sumo Federation- Information

The Israel Sumo Federation was established by its chairman Mr. Eldad Ben Horin in 1995.
His objective was to try to introduce people from all fields of
  martial arts in Israel to the sport of Sumo.
Every year in the spring,  a Sumo tournament is held in the city of Modi'in.
 Every year brings more and more participants, and in 2006 there were over 400 active
participants from ages 10-30. The Israeli media is warming up to these
developments and has showed great interest in the last tournaments.
The trip to Israel in June 2006 by wrestlers from Sadogatake -beya has created quite a stir
and Sumo's popularity has increased considerably.

The 2006 Israel National Sumo Championships
was held on Saturday, June 10th, 2006
at the Modi'in Sports Center
